Friday Bonus
Today's Friday Bonus comes from 1993. Back then I was the operations manager at TRANSCOM, a coalition of transportation agencies in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. Getting ready for one of the busiest travel days of the year, Good Morning America came by to do some live broadcasts. Here was what was state-of-the-art technology in the early '90s.

Upcoming Events
University Transportation Centers Spotlight Conference – November 4-5 – Washington, DC

HERE Receives ITS World Congress Hall of Fame Award

Congratulations to HERE for receiving the Industry Hall of Fame Award at the ITS World Congress in Bordeaux.  The Industry Award was granted to HERE for (1) developing and deploying a significant new innovative product, (2) developing a product that played a key role in accelerating development and deployment of ITS, and (3) being a company that plays a leading role in the ITS Community.  ITS International says: “Here envisions a highly precise living map of our cities and road networks, with ‘location’ acting as the bond that unites data flowing from all these different sources. Such a living map is vital if cities, governments and automakers want to move towards greater automation in transportation and mobility.” To read more about HERE’s product innovation, click here.
