Friday Bonus

Airports around the world have been decorated for Christmas, but only one airport I’m aware of has a Festivus display. Orlando International Airport has provided a place for travelers to air their grievances.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all the readers of the TCN for a wonderful 25th anniversary year! I appreciate your support, including ways none of us anticipated when this newsletter had its start in 1998.

Tuesday Transportation Oddities

When you think of buoys, maritime navigation devices probably come to mind. During World War II however, both the British and German military deployed rescue buoys throughout the English Channel. The devices were there to save airmen who crashed into the sea during the fighting. They were quite well equipped.
