Tuesday Transportation Oddities
There are plenty of interstate highways in the US that are within just one state, but I-878 holds the distinction of being the shortest at just 7/10’s of a mile (1.12 km) long. Not only is it the shortest interstate highway, it’s one-way only (eastbound). It’s in Queens, New York. You won’t find an interstate shield on the highway. The shortest signed interstate in the US is I-110 in El Paso. It’s 9/10’s of a mile (1.4 km) long.
