Tuesday Transportation Oddities
Did you ever hear of the SS Warrimoo? If not for an impossible to verify claim, the ship would probably not be remembered. The story is that the ship straddled both the International Date Line and the equator at the same time. This meant half the ship was in the northern hemisphere (winter) and the other half in the southern hemisphere (summer) at the same time. In addition, different parts of the ship were in the 1800s and the 1900s simultaneously because the event took place on December 31, 1899 and January 1, 1900.
