Tuesday Transportation Oddities

Usually if you’re traveling east or west, you change by one hour as you enter a new time zone. However, if you travel west from China into Afghanistan expect to change your watch by three and a half hours as you cross the border. The reason for the significant difference in times is due to the vast nation of China being all in the same time zone. It is the greatest time change along a common national border. I wouldn’t worry too much about the time shift. The border area is closed to all but locals.
