Friday Bonus  

As the US prepares to celebrate its semiquincentennial on July 4, I thought I go back to colonial times for this week’s Friday Bonus. Did you know thousands of British “criminals” were involuntarily transported to the colonies? While serious crimes were punished this way, offenses such as stealing a hairbrush or a lead pipe also led to banishment.
