A unique “multimodal” intersection is no more. Since 1941 traffic between Gibraltar and Spain had to cross an airport runway. When planes would land and take-off, the traffic had to stop. Now, vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists travel through a tunnel to bypass the runway.
