1913 **100th anniversary** A major milestone in the building of the Panama Canal was achieved when the Culebra Cut, also known as the Gaillard Cut, was broken through.
1913 **100th anniversary** Henry Flagler, a founder of Standard Oil, as well as the Florida East Coast Railway, died.
